Simone Hardy (née Ravelle) is a fictional character on the American soap opera General Hospital. The role was portrayed by Laura Carrington from 1987 until 1989. Stephanie Williams portrayed the role from 1990 until 1993. Felecia M. Bell portrayed the role from 1993 until 1996.
Laura Carrington originated the role of Simone Ravelle on June 1, 1987 and remained in the role until the character was taken off-screen on December 22, 1989. Stephanie Williams took over the role of Simone on February 16, 1990 and remained on the series until late 1993. Felecia Bell entered the role as the third and thus far last actress to play Simone, making her debut on December 20, 1993 until the character left the series in 1997.
Simone arrived in Port Charles when Dr. Steve Hardy hired her at General Hospital. He did not know that his son Tom Hardy and Simone had been lovers years before. When Tom returned from medical school, they resumed their relationship. Tom and Simone married in 1988. She became pregnant, but miscarried. Simone then left for a world cruise with her mother. Tom and Simone reconciled after she returned from the cruise. The two separated again in 1989 and Simone had an affair with Dr. Harrison Davis. Simone became pregnant but wasn't sure who the father was. Simone confided in her mother-in-law, Audrey March Hardy. She gave birth and named the boy, Tom Hardy Jr.. She decided to have a paternity test. The test revealed that Dr. Harrison Davis was the father. The test was tampered with by Simone's mother, Pauline Ravelle. Tom was in fact the father. Simone left town with her son to help orphans in Romania. When they returned, Tom moved back in with them.
Tom left Port Charles to help with a relief effort in Somalia. He left Simone and their son in Port Charles.
In 1993, Simone decided to run for City Council. Justus Ward was running against her and was very attracted to her. Simone stayed loyal to her husband. Justus won the seat on city council, but the two were growing very close. Tom returned from Africa and wanted to bring Tom Jr. and Simone back with him. Simone refused and suggested that they get a divorce. They got a divorce and Simone started to date Justus Ward. Tom Jr. was against the relationship from the beginning. Simone and Justus became engaged. Simone ended the engagement when she realized that Tom Jr. would never accept it.
